සුජිත් සමරසිංහ කලුතර දිස්ත්රික්කයේ ධර්ගා නගරය ආසන්න මීගම, නුගගහලන්ද ගමේ පදිංචිකරුවෙක්. බප/මතු/ වලගෙදර නවෝද්යා විද්යාලයෙන් උසස් පෙළ විභාගයට පෙනී සිටි ඔහු දැන් කැලනිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයට තේරී සිටිනවා.
iVoice නැවුම් අදහස් තරගයට ඔහු ඉදිරිපත් කළ අදහස වුණේ යතුරු පැදි අනතුරුවලින් විනාශ වන තරුණ ජීවිත රැක ගැනීම සඳහා දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක්. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් වීඩියෝවක් නිර්මානය කර සමාජ මාධ්යවලිනුත් වෙනත් ආකාරවලිනුත් තරුණයන් අතර ප්රචලිත කිරීම තමයි වැඩසටහන වුණේ.
“බොහෝ තරුණයන් යතුරුපැදියට ආසා කරනවා. ඒ වුණාට තරුණ ජවය හා ත්රාසෝන්මාදය නිසා ඔවුන් අනාරක්ෂිතව යතුරු පැදි පදවා අනතුරු සිදු කර ගන්නවා. එයින් අහිමි වන තරුණ ජීවිත සංඛ්යාව අති විශාලයි. තව විශාල පිරිසක් අබල දුබල තත්වයට පත් වෙනවා. මේ වීඩියෝව නිර්මානය කළේ මා වැනි තරුණයන් දැනුවත් කරන්නටයි. යතුරුපැදි අනතුරු සිදු වන හැටි හා ඒවා වළක්වාගෙන ආරක්ෂිතව යතුරුපැදියක් පදවන හැටි ගැන එහි පැහැදිලි කෙරෙනවා,“ සුජිත් පවසයි.
සුජිත් ඒ වෙනුවෙන් වැඩ කළේ කණ්ඩායමක් සමගයි. තරුණ ගුරුවරුන් දෙදෙනෙකු වන තුෂාර දංකැටිය හා රවිඳු සමීර කන්නන්ගර ඒ අතර ප්රමුඛ වුණා.
“බෙහෝ තරුණයන් යතුරුපැදි අනතුරුවලට මුහුණ දෙන එක් ප්රධාන අවස්ථාවක් වන්නේ නිවාඩු දිනවලදී ඔවුන් මත්පැන් සාදවලට එකතු වන මොහොතයි. මත්පැන් පානය කරමින් සිටින අතරතුර ඇතැම් විට තරුණයන් මත්පැන් ගෙන ඒම සඳහා යන්නේ ඉතාම අනාරක්ෂිත ලෙසයි. මෙවැනි අවස්ථාවලදී ඇතැම් විට හෙල්මට් පැළඳීම පවා කරන්නේ නැහැ.“ මෙම වීඩියෝවේ පිටපත ලියූ තුෂාර දංකැටිය පවසනවා.
පොලිස් වාර්තා අනුව, 2016 වසරේ සමස්ත රිය අනතුරු සංඛ්යාව 2838ක් වූ අතර එමඟින් සිදු වූ මරණ ප්රමාණය 3020ක් විය. ඒ අතුරින් වාර්තා වූ යතුරුපැදි අනතුරු ගණන 1182 කි. ඉන් වාර්තා වූ මරණ සංඛ්යාව 1229කි.
පසුගියදා සිය ගමේ පවත්වන ලද චාම් උත්සවයකදී මෙම වීඩියෝව දියත් කරනු ලැබුවා.
“මම දැන් මෙතනට එනකොටත් මගදී යතුරුපැදි අනතුරක් සම්බන්ධ රාජකාරියක් කරන්නට සිදු වුණා. මේ ආසන්නයේදී හෙල්මටයක් නැතුව යතුරුපැදියක් පැදවූ කාන්තාවක් නවත්වා දඩයක් නියම කරන්නට මට සිදු වුණා,“ යි එම උත්සවය අමතමින් කතා කර වැලිපැන්න පොලිස් ස්ථානයේ රථවාහන අංශයේ ස්ථානාධිපති කිත්සිරි මහතා පැවසුවා “රියදුරු බලපත්රය හෝ ආදායම් බලපත්රය නැති වීමටත් වඩා හෙල්මට් නැති වීම භයානකයි. හේතුව, එතැනදී සිදු වන්නේ නඩු වැටීමක් නොවෙයි. ජීවිතය අවදානමට ලක් වීමයි.“
ප්රමිතියෙන් තොර හෙල්මට් පැළඳීම, අධි වේගය, වමෙන් ඉස්සර කිරීම, ක්ෂණිකව හැරවීම, අපරීක්ෂාකාරිත්වය, අවදානම් ක්රියා ආදිය යතුරුපැදි අනතුරුවලට හේතුව බවයි පොලිස් නිලධාරියා පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ.
“බොහෝ වෙලාවට අතුරු මාර්ගවලදී පොලිසිය නැති නිසා යතුරුපැදි පදවන්නන් නීතියට ගරු නො කිරීමත් අනතුරුවලට අත වැනීමක්,“ යි මෙම උත්සවයට සහභාගි වූ පළාත් පාලන මැතිවරණ අපේක්ෂකයකු වූ රෝහණ කුලතුංග පැවසුවා.
එම වීඩියෝව ප්රදේශයේ විවිධ සමාජ උත්සවවලදී ප්රදර්ශනය කිරීමටත්, සමාජ මාධ්ය ඔස්සේ බෙදා ගැනීමටත් ඔවුන් පියවර ගෙන තිබෙනවා.

iVoice is an online platform that encourages youth to discuss social issues and to drive innovative solutions. The platform features stories relating to social issues in Sri Lanka, which are submitted by iVoice contributors and the general public.
The objective of the iVoice Idea Competition is to encourage youth to play a participatory role in solving social issues. After reading a story featured on iVoice, youth can submit their ‘idea’ to help to address the social issue that is highlighted in the story. The ten best ideas will receive seed capital of Rs. 100,000/- each, and mentoring, to support in implementing their ideas.
The majority of articles featured on iVoice relate to a social issue. These stories have a ‘Submit Your Idea’ button at the end of the article, inviting youth to share their innovative ideas on how to address these social issues.
Submitted ideas must be innovative and unique. The ideas must also be practical and implementable by 31 December 2017.
The deadline for submitting an idea is 3 September 2017.
To submit an idea, the following details must be provided through the online form:
Note: Participants can submit any number of ideas; however, only one idea per article is permitted.
Ideas will be evaluated through a competitive process.

Evaluation criteria includes creativity of the proposed idea to address the given social issue, and feasibility of implementation within the stipulated budget and timeframe.
The number of votes received per idea will not be a deciding factor.
