Water is a fundamental human need. For nearly 9000 residents living in Kareinagar, a glass of pure water means miles to travel. This issue has disproportionally affected women and girls. The chore keeps girls out of school and women from more productive economic activities. Rasika Gunawardena, a young mobile storyteller trained under the MediaCorps Fellowship Program implemented by #SDJF in collaboration with #IREX with the support of #USAID wants the authorities to look into this matter and do the justice to the community. As a part of the training program the Fellows spend a week in a community different from their very own with their MediaCorps partner to produce collaborative multimedia and mobile stories.
