Transgender people: marginalized and misunderstood?

Transgender people face grave social injustice and prejudice on a daily basis. At the family level as well as society level the practice of discrimination has been taking place, the majority of parents are not willing to reveal about their transgender children in the public, not only the parents but also siblings, and relatives. The first stage includes embracing the feelings of shock, betrayal, and confusion that a family may express after the disclosure. Instead, the family should discuss these challenges, begin to accept the reality of a gender-variant relative and attempt to soften their functioning rules.
