ගමේ ගොඩේ මිනිසුන් ඔසප් වීමට මාසෙ මාරුව යයි කියනවා. තරමක් අසභ්ය වදනක් ලෙස සැලකුණත්, මෙය ඇත්තෙන් ම විද්යාත්මක යෙදුමක්. එයින් කියවෙන්නේ දින 28ක් වන ඔසප් චක්රය පිළිබඳවයි. එක් චක්රයක් අවසන් වී අලුත් චක්රයක් ආරම්භ වීම මාසෙ මාරුව ලෙස හැඳින්වෙනවා.
මැයි 28දා. අද දවස ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව පිළිබඳ ජාත්යන්තර දිනය ලෙස ලොව පුරා සමරනවා. ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතා දිනය ආරම්භ වුණේ 2014දී යි. එහි අරමුණ කාන්තාවන් සහ ගැහැණු ළමයින් ඔසප් චක්ර නිසා මුහුණ දෙන අභියෝග පිළිබඳ දැනුවත් කිරීම හා එම අභියෝග ජය ගැනීම සඳහා විසඳුම් අවධාරණය කිරීමයි. මේ නිමිත්තෙන් එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ජනගහන අරමුදල විසින් 2018 මැයි 28දා කොළඹදී ‘පෑඩ්මෑන්’ බොලිවුඩ් චිත්රපටයේ විශේෂ දර්ශනයක් පවත්වනවා.
‘පෑඩ්මෑන්’ යනු අඩු වියදම් සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවා නිෂ්පාදනයෙන් ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව පිළිබඳ සංකල්පයේ විප්ලවයක් ඇති කළ දකුණු ඉන්දියානු ජාතිකයකු වූ අරුණාචලම් මුරුගානන්දම්ගේ දිරිවඩනසුළු ජීවිත කතාව ඇසුරින් නිර්මානය කරන ලද චිත්රපටයකි. ඔහු ඒ සඳහා පර්යේෂණ කිරීමට පෙළඹෙන්නේ ඔහුගේ බිරිඳ ඇගේ ඔසප් සමයේදී කිළිටි රෙදි කැබලි හා පුවත්පත් කඩදාසි භාවිතා කරනු දැකීමෙනි. මෙම චිත්රපටය විසින් ස්ත්රී පුරුෂ ඒකාකෘතිකරණය සහ ඔසප් වීම අපකීර්තියක් බවට සමාජයේ තිබෙන අදහස වැනි කරුණු රැසක් අභියෝගයට ලක් කරනු ලැබේ. ‘එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ජනගහන අරමුදලේ ශ්රී ලංකා නියෝජිත රිට්සු නකේන් මහත්මිය ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතා දිනයේ වැදගත්කම පිළිබඳ මෙසේ පවසනවා: “ඔසප් වීම ආශ්රිතව තිබෙන, එය අපකීර්තිමත් දෙයකි යන අදහස විසින් ස්ත්රී පුරුෂ සමාජභාවී සමානාත්මතාව යටපත් කරනු ලැබේ. ඒ පිළිබඳ විවෘත සංවාදයක් ඇති කිරීමෙන් අපට ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව හා සනීපාරක්ෂාව සම්බන්ධයෙන් ආරක්ෂිත ක්රම හා සෞඛ්ය සම්පන්න ආකල්ප ප්රවර්ධනය කළ හැකි ය. ඔසප් වීම කාන්තාවන්ට හා ගැහැණු ළමයින්ට පමණක් නොව, පිරිමින්ට හා පිරිමි ළමයින්ටත් අදාළ වන දෙයක් බව තේරුම් ගැනීම වැදගත් ය. ඔසප් වීම පිළිබඳ සංවාදයට පිරිමින් සහ පිරිමි ළමයින් ඇතුළත් කර ගැනීමෙන් එය සාමාන්ය දෙයක් බවට පත් වන අතර කාන්තාවන් හා ගැහැණු ළමයින් වෙනුවෙන් වඩා සුරක්ෂිත සහ උපකාරශීලී වාතාවරණයක් නිර්මානය කළ හැකි ය. ”
එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ ළමා අරමුදලේ අධ්යයනයක් අනුව, ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මව්පියන්ගෙන් 60%ක් සිය දියණියන් ඔසප් දිනවලදී පාසල් නොයවති. 80%ක් මව්පියන් සිතන පරිදි මෙම දිනවලදී නෑම මගහැරිය යුතු ය.
සෞඛ්ය ප්රවර්ධන කාර්යාංශයේ සේවය කරන ප්රජා වෛද්ය විශේෂඥ අසන්ති ප්රනාන්දු බලපිටියගේ සහ කැලණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලයේ ප්රජා වෛද්ය මහාචාර්ය පුෂ්පා ජයවර්ධනගේ සහභාගිත්වයෙන් කලුතර දිස්ත්රික්කයේ 10 ශ්රේණියේ පාසල් ශිෂ්යාවන් අතර කරන ලද සමීක්ෂණයකදී හෙළිදරව් වූ පරිදි එම ගැහැණු ළමයින්ගෙන් 44.4%ක් ඔසප් දිනවලදී පාසල් යාම මගහරින බව පැවසූ හ. එසේම, ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව වෙනුවෙන් අවශ්ය පහසුකම් තිබුණේ දිස්ත්රික්කයේ පාසල් අතරින් 48.9%ක පමණි.
ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව පිළිබඳ කතා කරමින් වෛද්ය අසන්ති ප්රනාන්දු බලපිටිය මහත්මිය පැවසුවේ ඒ පිළිබඳ විවෘතව කතා කිරීම වැදගත් බවයි.
“සමාජයේ මිථ්යා මත තිබෙනවා. මේ පිට වන්නේ අපිරිසිදු රුධිරය බව කියන එක එවැනි මතයක්. එය වැරදියි. මෙහිදී සිදු වන්නේ ගැබ් ගැනීම සඳහා සූදානම් වුණ ගර්භාෂ බිත්තිය, ගැබ් ගැනීමක් සිදු නොවීම නිසා ගැලවී රුධිරය සමග ඉවත්ව යාම යි. ඔසප් වීම සිදු වන දිනවල පිරිසිදුකම ඉතා වැදගත්. ඔසප් දිනවලදී නාන්නට හොඳ නැහැ වගේ අදහස් තියෙනවා. ඒ වුණාට මේ දිනවල නාලා පිරිසිදු වෙන එක ඉතා වැදගත්. අප කියන්නේ සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවා හෝ රෙදිකඩ පැය හතරකට වරක් මාරු කරන්න ය කියලා යි. එහෙත්, සමහර විට, පාසල් දරුවන්ට එහෙම ඒ සඳහා පහසුකම් නැති නිසා උදේ පාසල් පැමිණ, සවස පන්ති ගොස් එනතුරුත් එක ම සනීපාරක්ෂක තුවාය පාවිච්චි කරන අවස්ථා තිබෙනවා. ගැහැණු ළමයින්ට හා කාන්තාවන්ට ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව වෙනුවෙන් පහසුකම් සැලසීම සමාජ වගකීමක්. ඒ වගේ ම, ඒ දිනවලදී ඔවුන් මුහුණ දෙන ශාරීරික, මානසික ගැටලුවලදී ඔවුන්ට විශේෂයෙන් ම සැමියා, දරුවන් ඇතුළු පවුලේ අයගෙනුත්, සමාජයෙනුත් උපකාර අවශ්ය යි. ඒ නිසා ඔසප් ස්වස්ථතාව කියන්නෙ කාන්තාවන්ගේ ගැටලුවක් නෙමෙයි. එය සමාජමය කාරණයක්."
කාන්තාවන් සිය ජීවිත කාලය තුළදී දින 2500 - 3000 අතර කාලයක් ඔසප් වීම සමග ගත කරන බව වෛද්ය අසන්ති ප්රනාන්දු බලපිටිය පෙන්වා දෙනවා. එබැවින් එම දිනවලදී ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවිතය ගත වන ආකාරය කාන්තාවන්ගේ හා ගැහැණු ළමයින්ගේ හැකියාවන් සහ ජීවිත මල් ඵල ගන්වා ගැනීමට බලපානවා. එයින් ස්ත්රී පුරුෂ සමානාත්මතාවට බලපෑම් සිදු වෙනවා. එය වෙනස්කම් කිරීමට, ගැහැණු ළමයින්ට හා කාන්තාවන්ට අධ්යාපනය මගහැරීමට, රැකියා හා වෙනත් ජීවන අවස්ථා අහිමි වීමට හේතු විය හැකි යි.
ඔසප් වීම යනු සාමාන්ය ජීව විද්යාත්මක ක්රියාවලියක්. එසේ වෙතත්, එය ලොව පුරා ම පාහේ අපකීර්තිමත් කාරණයක් ලෙස සැලකෙනවා. එබැවින් බොහෝ දෙනෙක් ඒ පිළිබඳ කතාකිරීමට මැලිකමක් දක්වනවා. ඒ පිළිබඳ නිහැඬියාව බිඳීම සමාජ සංවර්ධනයට ඉවහල් වන කාරණයක්.
iVoice Idea Competition
iVoice is an online platform that encourages youth to discuss social issues and to drive innovative solutions. The platform features stories relating to social issues in Sri Lanka, which are submitted by iVoice contributors and the general public.
The objective of the iVoice Idea Competition is to encourage youth to play a participatory role in solving social issues. After reading a story featured on iVoice, youth can submit their ‘idea’ to help to address the social issue that is highlighted in the story. The ten best ideas will receive seed capital of Rs. 100,000/- each, and mentoring, to support in implementing their ideas.
The majority of articles featured on iVoice relate to a social issue. These stories have a ‘Submit Your Idea’ button at the end of the article, inviting youth to share their innovative ideas on how to address these social issues.
Submitted ideas must be innovative and unique. The ideas must also be practical and implementable by 31 December 2017.
The deadline for submitting an idea is 3 September 2017.
To submit an idea, the following details must be provided through the online form:

Ideas will be evaluated through a competitive process.

Evaluation criteria includes creativity of the proposed idea to address the given social issue, and feasibility of implementation within the stipulated budget and timeframe.
The number of votes received per idea will not be a deciding factor.
